Delicious Smoothie Recipes - Shelby Skaggs

Smoothies are a perfect way to start your day. One of my favorite things about smoothies, other than being packed with flavor, is the ability to change the recipe to fit your needs. Need more protein to your diet? Add a scoop to your favorite breakfast smoothie. Need to watch your calorie intake? Substitute water for milk.

For today’s blog I have listed a few of my favorite smoothies. These smoothies are great to follow but can be modified to fit your desires.

A few tips to make a perfect smoothie:

  • If you are using frozen fruit, you do not need to use as much ice.

  • If your smoothie is not blending well, add more water or milk.

  • If you need more protein, feel free to add a scoop of vanilla or chocolate protein to your smoothie.

  • If you are watching your calorie intake, use non-fat milk, almond milk, or water.

  • Peanut Butter tends to be high in calories. If you do not want the extra calories but want the Peanut Butter taste, use Peanut Butter powder instead. This can be found in the same aisle as regular Peanut Butter.

  • Smoothie recipes are a great starting point. You do not have to be very punctual when measuring your ingredients and do not have to use every ingredient listed. Feel free to change and add to the recipe of your choice.

  • Smoothies are best when they are super cold!
